Frontier Culture Museum recently issued the following announcement.

This presentation examines settler stories that leave cracks in their narrative where questions arise about the mostly untold costs of the settlement–to themselves and to indigenous people. Several settler stories that were read in their own day are now especially interesting for what they tell us about the internal conflicts of settlers, the ambivalence, and even their guilt.
