U.S. Congressman Ben Cline, representing Virginia’s 6th district since 2019, posted a series of statements on social media addressing topics ranging from economic performance to national security and foreign investment.
On August 19, 2025, Cline commented on the state of the U.S. economy under President Biden’s administration: “Under @POTUS, America’s economy is stronger than ever and the stock market is setting records:
S&P 500 earnings surged 11% in one year
84% of companies beat Wall Street forecasts
60% of businesses outperformed earnings-per-share estimates by wide margins”.
The following day, August 20, Cline criticized former intelligence officials for their roles in what he referred to as the “Russia Hoax.” He wrote: “Intelligence officials behind the Russia Hoax betrayed their oath and the American people’s trust.
They weaponized our government and pushed lies for political gain. It was far beyond time their clearances were revoked and they were held accountable.”
Later on August 20, Cline addressed issues related to infrastructure and strategic investment: “From pipelines to pharmaceutical production, innovative thinking and strategic foreign investment are benefiting Americans while safeguarding our nation.”
Cline has represented Virginia’s 6th District since replacing Bob Goodlatte in Congress in 2019. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018. Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972, Cline is currently based in Fincastle. He holds a BA from Bates College (1994) and a JD from the University of Richmond (2007).
