Congressman Ben Cline, who has represented Virginia’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress since 2019 and previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018, recently addressed several issues through his social media posts. Cline, born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently residing in Fincastle, holds a BA from Bates College and a JD from the University of Richmond.

On July 10, 2025, Congressman Cline cited warnings about potential energy shortages: “Experts now warn Americans could face up to 800 hours of blackouts by 2030 with retirement scheduled for certain energy facilities. In the face of this, we need an all-of-the-above energy strategy that keeps the lights on and meets demand.”

The following day, July 11, he commented on developments related to opioid abuse: “This is incredible news for every Virginian and loved one who’s been affected by the opioid epidemic. The Attorney General deserves to be commended for delivering a victory that will bring meaningful, lasting change to the lives of so many.”

Later on July 11, Cline made remarks regarding criminal activity and immigration policy: “This is exactly the kind of criminal MS-13 leader that radical Democrats are willing to allow into our country. I’ve been saying it for years — we cannot allow violent individuals who pose a threat to our society to roam freely in American communities.”

Ben Cline succeeded Bob Goodlatte as representative for Virginia’s 6th district in Congress. He continues his legislative work while addressing issues ranging from energy security to public safety.
