Congressman Ben Cline, who represents Virginia’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed issues related to immigration policy, bail reform, and his new committee role in a series of recent social media posts.

On September 11, 2025, Cline wrote, “The revolving door of illegal immigration must END. Repeat offenders cannot keep walking free in our communities with zero accountability. Today, @HouseGOP passed the Stop Illegal Reentry Act to deliver tough penalties and finally close that revolving door.”

Continuing on criminal justice policy, Cline commented on September 12, 2025: “.@POTUS is right—cashless bail is a disaster. Democrats’ soft-on-crime policies put dangerous criminals back on our streets and endanger law-abiding citizens. It must end.”

Later the same day, Cline announced his appointment as a conferee for several key appropriations bills: “My statement on being named a Republican Conferee for FY26 Agriculture, Military Construction-Veterans Affairs, and Legislative Branch Bills.”

Ben Cline has represented Virginia’s 6th District in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Bob Goodlatte. He previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018. Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently residing in Fincastle, Cline holds degrees from Bates College (BA) and the University of Richmond (JD).
