Congressman Ben Cline, who has represented Virginia’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, recently shared a series of posts addressing national security, executive decision-making at the White House, and support for law enforcement. Cline previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018 and holds degrees from Bates College and the University of Richmond.
On July 13, 2025, Cline marked the anniversary of an attack on former President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. He wrote: “One year ago, Americans witnessed a terrible attack, but by God’s grace, President Trump’s life was spared in Butler, Pennsylvania. Today, we remain grateful for God’s protection and continue to pray for the President’s strength and the future of our great nation.”
The following day, on July 14, Cline addressed concerns about decision-making within the executive branch. He stated: “The American people deserve to know who was making executive-level decisions at the White House. An unelected White House staffer has no place in making these decisions. The American people didn’t vote for the staff, they voted for the President.”
Later on July 14, Cline expressed his support for law enforcement officers and commented on state-level backing for police. He posted: “We must support those who wear the uniform and put their lives on the line each day to safeguard American communities. When a liberal state refuses to back the blue, Republican-led states will welcome our brave law enforcement officers with open arms.”
Ben Cline was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently resides in Fincastle. He replaced Bob Goodlatte as representative for Virginia’s 6th District.
