Congressman Ben Cline, who represents Virginia’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several issues on his social media accounts between October 16 and 17, 2025. His posts covered government funding legislation, national security concerns related to unidentified drones, and the protection of Second Amendment rights during a government shutdown.
On October 16, Cline commented on legislative negotiations regarding government funding: “Wrong. The House has already done its job and passed a bill that would keep the government open. The FACT is that 60 votes are needed to pass a Clean CR in the Senate. Republicans have provided 51 votes, while Senate Democrats have offered only 3. The following day, Cline praised federal agencies for their response to airspace security issues: “Great work, @SecWar and @DHSgov. Earlier this year, I joined my colleagues in raising concerns about the unidentified drone fleet that breached U.S. military airspace in Quantico. As a member on @HouseIntel this is top of mind for me and rest assured I’ll continue to raise https://t.co/jkisLymdTK” (October 17).
Later on October 17, he addressed concerns about firearm rights amid ongoing budgetary disputes: “Government shutdowns should not take away your Second Amendment rights. I was proud to lead a letter on Thursday with 29 of my colleagues urging the @ATFHQ to uphold 2A rights and process NFA applications during the ongoing government shutdown.
