Congressman Ben Cline, who represents Virginia’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several topics on February 4, 2026, including military support organizations, welfare system management in Minnesota, and federal funding for infrastructure improvements.

In a tweet posted at 13:41 UTC, Cline recognized the United Service Organizations (USO) on its anniversary: “When our service members are deployed, @The_USO serves as a vital link to home and a powerful reminder that America stands behind our heroes. Happy 85th birthday, and thank you for your unwavering support of the military community. “

Later that day at 21:39 UTC, Cline criticized Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s oversight of the state’s welfare system. He wrote: “Tim Walz oversaw a welfare system that rewarded fraud, allowing benefits meant for children with autism to be diverted to those who simply don’t qualify. This outrageous mismanagement is robbing children with disabilities of the services they need to thrive.”

Cline has represented Virginia’s 6th congressional district since replacing Bob Goodlatte in 2019 and previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 until his election to Congress. Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently residing in Fincastle at age 51, he holds degrees from Bates College and the University of Richmond.
