Congressman Ben Cline, who represents Virginia’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on April 10, 2026, addressing topics ranging from educational leadership to immigration policy.
In his first post at 14:54 UTC, Cline expressed appreciation for the outgoing leader of Virginia Tech: “Grateful for the leadership of @VTSandsman and the hard work he invested in @virginia_tech during his successful tenure. Under his leadership, Virginia Tech increased enrollment, strengthened its research departments, and grew into a globally recognized”.
Later that day at 19:03 UTC, Cline commented on national immigration policy: “America can’t afford to reward illegal immigration any longer. Amnesty policies incentivize more of it and bring the consequences of the border crisis into our communities. I stand with @freedomcaucus in calling for an end to amnesty for those here illegally.”
In a subsequent post at 21:23 UTC, he praised federal efforts regarding border security while emphasizing continued action: “Thanks to President Trump’s leadership and the hard work of @DHSgov, our borders have never been more secure. While we have made historic progress, the job isn’t done yet. We need to keep working to deport the illegal criminal aliens harming our communities!”
Ben Cline has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after replacing Bob Goodlatte and previously held office in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018. Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently residing in Fincastle, Cline holds degrees from Bates College and the University of Richmond.
