Congressman Ben Cline, who represents Virginia’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on social media on September 5, 2025, addressing American energy production and border security.

In a post made at 12:47 p.m., Cline highlighted recent oil production figures, stating, “America just pumped 13.58 million barrels of oil per day in June. The most EVER recorded. This happens when we say NO to the Green New Scam and YES to unleashing American energy.”

Later that afternoon at 2:32 p.m., Cline commented on border security policies under former President Trump, writing, “The world knows our borders are CLOSED thanks to President Trump’s leadership. Over 14,000 illegal immigrants are heading home, turning back before they even reach the border. What was once overrun under the Left’s failed agenda is now turning around.”

At 4:37 p.m., Cline addressed liquefied natural gas (LNG) export policy and its impact on domestic interests: “Shutting down LNG export facilities harmed American businesses and consumers. An all-of-the-above energy strategy is what America and our allies need. Unleashing domestic resources will protect our national security and put American energy back in the driver’s seat.”

Cline has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after replacing Bob Goodlatte. He previously represented his region in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018. Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently residing in Fincastle, Cline holds degrees from Bates College and the University of Richmond.
