Congressman Ben Cline, representing Virginia’s 6th district since 2019, has been vocal on various national issues through his social media platform. His recent statements reflect his positions on foreign aid, immigration enforcement, and national security.

On July 2, 2025, Congressman Cline commented on Secretary Rubio’s efforts in managing foreign aid. He stated that “Since day one, @SecRubio has worked to ensure our foreign aid puts America’s interests first. After years of bloated spending and little oversight, we’re finally bringing accountability back and making sure taxpayers get the transparency they deserve.”

Later that day, he expressed concern over a CNN-promoted application related to ICE enforcement. He tweeted about the increase in assaults on ICE agents by 500%, criticizing the promotion as undermining public safety: “At a time when assaults on ICE agents are up 500%, it’s outrageous that CNN is promoting an app designed to undermine ICE enforcement and shield criminal illegal immigrants. This kind of reckless and radical advocacy puts politics over public safety.”

In another tweet posted on July 2nd, Cline addressed national security concerns involving China. He referenced an incident involving Chinese nationals targeting U.S. Navy personnel for intelligence purposes: “The CCP’s continued attempts to undermine our national security are relentless. This is just the latest example. 2 Chinese nationals were caught targeting our Navy and trying to turn American service members against their own country for Chinese intel.”

Ben Cline has been active in legislative matters since his election to Congress after serving in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018.
