Congressman Ben Cline, who represents Virginia’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing national political issues and government spending.
On July 31, 2025, Cline commented on the Democratic Party’s approval ratings and legislative actions: “Democrats’ 35-year low approval rating comes as no surprise. They voted for the largest tax hike and opened the border, ignoring the concerns of the American people. Americans know House Republicans are fighting for them in Washington.”
The following day, August 1, 2025, he praised efforts to reduce government expenditures: “.@DOGE has done a tremendous job rooting out wasteful government spending. The estimated savings? $1,236 per taxpayer, totaling $199 billion. This is exactly how we get our country back on the right fiscal track.”
Later that same day, Cline highlighted former President Trump’s trade achievements: “In just six months, President Trump locked in historic trade deals with the UK, Japan, Indonesia, the EU, the Philippines, and Vietnam. That’s real leadership, meanwhile Joe Biden wasn’t allowed a seat at the table.”
Cline has served in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Bob Goodlatte and previously represented his community in Virginia’s House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018. He was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently resides in Fincastle. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts from Bates College (1994) and a Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond (2007).
