Congressman Ben Cline, who represents Virginia’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on March 11, 2026, criticizing media coverage, state-level gun control measures, and rising college tuition costs.

In his first post at 13:55 UTC, Cline stated: “The woke liberal media hates America and everything we stand for. These attackers drew inspiration from ISIS.”

Less than an hour later, he addressed recent legislative developments in Virginia: “Virginia Democrats just rammed through an ‘assault firearms’ ban in the State Senate. Now heads straight to radical Spanberger’s desk. Democrats are attacking our constitutional #2A rights. VA is a test run for tyrannical gun control across the U.S.”

Later that afternoon, Cline criticized Democratic lawmakers over education policy: “Democrats are squarely to blame for the skyrocketing cost of college tuition across our Commonwealth. Their push for collective bargaining and woke offices does absolutely nothing to advance students’ education. Thank a Democrat next time you pay your college tuition bill.”

Cline has served in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Bob Goodlatte and previously spent more than fifteen years as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018. He was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently resides in Fincastle. Cline holds a BA from Bates College and earned his JD from the University of Richmond.
