Congressman Ben Cline, who represents Virginia’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to address several national political issues, including presidential powers, border security, and legislative processes.

On September 8, 2025, Cline commented on the presidential pardon authority by stating, “The presidential pardon is one of the most powerful authorities granted to a president. That power must remain with the president alone, and even Joe Biden’s own staff admits it. The American people deserve answers. They demand the truth and they are owed accountability.”

Later that day, Cline addressed border wall policy changes under President Biden’s administration: “Remember when Joe Biden sold our border wall materials for pennies on the dollar? Thanks to H.R. 1 and @HouseGOP, construction of the border wall is BACK and our Nation is SECURE again.” This statement references ongoing debates about U.S.-Mexico border security measures.

On September 9, 2025, Cline criticized Senate Democrats regarding appropriations bills: “Senate Democrats’ refusal to do their job and pass appropriations bills is unacceptable. We won’t let their obstruction stand in the way of the America First agenda or the priorities of the American people.”

Cline has served in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Bob Goodlatte. Before joining Congress, he was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018. Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently residing in Fincastle, Cline holds degrees from Bates College and the University of Richmond.
