U.S. Congressman Ben Cline, who represents Virginia’s 6th district, used his social media platform on November 3, 2025, to comment on issues related to federal employee pay during government shutdowns and partisan divides in Congress.

In a post published at 13:56 UTC, Cline stated, “Most Americans simply cannot work for weeks without a paycheck. But Senate Democrats will collect a paycheck this month, while essential employees will miss theirs while on the job. Democrats have had 14 opportunities to pass a clean CR that would pay federal employees. It’s”.

Later that day at 19:04 UTC, he addressed public safety and crime trends: “Across the country, violent crime has plummeted as Republicans have worked to restore law and order and empower law enforcement to do their jobs. Protecting American families should never be a partisan issue.”

At 20:48 UTC the same day, Cline commented on public perceptions of Democratic lawmakers: “It’s no surprise that 70% of Americans think Democrats are out of touch. They have said shutdowns are damaging for years, yet they are using the American people as “leverage” to score political points with the most radical flank of their base.”

Ben Cline has represented Virginia’s 6th congressional district since replacing Bob Goodlatte in 2019 and previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018. He was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently resides in Fincastle. Cline holds degrees from Bates College (BA) and the University of Richmond (JD).
