Congressman Ben Cline, who represents Virginia’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared a series of statements on social media addressing tax relief, online safety legislation, and crime policy.
On September 3, 2025, Cline posted about new tax measures: “Thanks to the Working Families Tax Plan, MAJOR tax relief is coming straight to our communities here in Virginia. The average family will see $3,554 in savings, and over 26,200 jobs have been safeguarded. This is the largest tax cut for working and middle-class families in”.
Later that day, he commented on international legislative developments during a Judiciary Committee hearing: “The UK’s Online Safety Act is an overreaching regime, opening a Pandora’s box of government censorship, with ripple effects here in the U.S. Just now in a @JudiciaryGOP hearing, I asked @Nigel_Farage his view on repealing it. I thank him for his commitment to defending free”.
On September 4, 2025, Cline addressed public safety concerns regarding Washington D.C.: “Our capital should shine as a symbol of America’s greatness, but violent crime has been allowed to run rampant for far too long. The solution is clear: enforcing the rule of law WORKS. Rejecting failed soft-on-crime policies keeps our streets and our communities safe.”
Cline has served as the representative for Virginia’s 6th District since 2019 after succeeding Bob Goodlatte. He previously held office in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018 and resides in Fincastle. Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently aged 51, Cline holds degrees from Bates College and the University of Richmond.
