Congressman Ben Cline, representing Virginia’s 6th district since 2019, shared several updates on his official social media account regarding recent developments in border security, job growth, and legislative achievements. The congressman has been active in U.S. politics for many years, having previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018.
On July 3, 2025, Congressman Cline reported that “Border Patrol encountered just 6,070 illegal immigrants in June—the lowest monthly number ever and 15% lower than March.” He attributed this decrease to efforts by President Trump to reduce crossings and expressed ongoing concerns about what he termed “Biden’s border crisis.”
Later that day, Cline highlighted positive economic news with a post stating that “For the fourth month in a row, job growth beat expectations with 147,000 new jobs added in June.” He emphasized the significance of these figures as they translate into “paychecks, opportunity, and livelihoods for hard working families across America.”
In another update on July 3rd, Cline announced his support for a significant legislative measure by stating: “Today, I voted for the final passage of the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill,’ a great victory for American families.” This bill aims to deliver on promises made by both the President and House Republicans regarding tax reductions and national security.
Ben Cline was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently resides in Fincastle. He graduated from Bates College with a BA in 1994 and earned a JD from the University of Richmond in 2007.
