Congressman Ben Cline, who represents Virginia’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted several developments on his social media account, ranging from international trade agreements to legislative efforts and pharmaceutical investments.
On July 28, 2025, Cline praised a new agreement between the United States and the European Union: “President Trump secured a historic $1.35 trillion EU trade deal that is focused on energy and military equipment. With @POTUS at the helm, the EU is doubling down on its significant investments in America.”
Later that day, he drew attention to concerns over personal data privacy and his legislative response: “Your genetic data isn’t just another corporate asset to be sold off. My Don’t Sell My DNA Act is vital to close a loophole in the current bankruptcy code, ensuring your genetic data stays protected.”
In a third post on July 28, Cline commented on pharmaceutical industry investment in Virginia: “AstraZeneca is making the largest investment by any drug company right here in our Commonwealth, laser focused on manufacturing cutting-edge treatments for chronic diseases.”
Ben Cline has served as U.S. Representative for Virginia’s 6th District since 2019 after succeeding Bob Goodlatte. He previously held office in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018. Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently residing in Fincastle, Cline holds degrees from Bates College (BA) and the University of Richmond (JD).
