Congressman Ben Cline, who represents Virginia’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on social media regarding gun policy, border security, and legislative priorities.

On January 6, 2026, Cline stated: “Law-abiding gun owners should never have been subjected to the unconstitutional NFA tax. My provision in H.R. 1 ended this $200 tax once and for all. In 2026, we’re keeping the momentum and pushing for full passage of my Hearing Protection Act with 110+ cosponsors.”

Later that day, he wrote: “.@POTUS and @HouseGOP are unapologetically delivering on the America First agenda. America is back. Commonsense policies that put our country first are working, momentum is clear, and we are keeping up the fight.”

On January 7, Cline commented on drug enforcement efforts: “DEA Administrator Terry Cole is right. Foreign cartels and narcoterrorists have exploited open-border policies championed by Democrats for far too long, flooding our streets with drugs. Finally, good cops are empowered to enforce our laws on the books and put America FIRST.”

Ben Cline has served in Congress since 2019 after replacing Bob Goodlatte as representative for Virginia’s 6th district. Before his time in Congress, he was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018. Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently residing in Fincastle, Cline holds a BA from Bates College (1994) and a JD from the University of Richmond (2007).
