Congressman Ben Cline, who represents Virginia’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently addressed issues ranging from tax relief for tipped workers to support for skilled trades and honoring military veterans in a series of posts on social media.
On August 6, 2025, Cline wrote: “An overwhelming 83% of hourly tipped workers support eliminating taxes on tips. From wait staff to barbers, these hard-earned wages belong in their pockets. The economic impact will be real and it starts with respecting their work.”
The following day, August 7, he commemorated National Purple Heart Day by stating: “Today, on #NationalPurpleHeartDay, we take a moment to honor our heroic veterans who were either wounded or paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our great Nation and our American values. We salute you.”
Most recently, on August 8, Cline highlighted legislation supporting vocational education: “Skilled trades are essential to America’s workforce and economy. The One Big Beautfuil Bill expands Pell Grants to cover trade schools and apprenticeships, supporting blue-collar workers and empowering the next generation of American workers.”
Cline has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after succeeding Bob Goodlatte. He previously represented his community in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018. Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently residing in Fincastle, Cline holds degrees from Bates College (BA) and the University of Richmond (JD).
