Congressman Ben Cline, who represents Virginia’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of updates on social media highlighting developments in energy exports, tax policy, and expressing condolences for a colleague.
On January 5, 2026, Cline wrote: “America is set to become the world’s largest LNG exporter in 2026, projected to top 100 million metric tons. Less than a decade ago, the U.S. exported ZERO LNG. Domestic energy dominance is back thanks to @HouseGOP!”
The following day, he commented on tax relief measures: “Over 94% of middle-class Americans will receive tax relief under the Trump tax cuts. This is a real, tangible break for people feeling the squeeze. And when it mattered most, Democrats voted against it.” The post referenced ongoing debates about federal tax policy and its effects on American households.
Later that same day, Cline offered his sympathies regarding the passing of Doug LaMalfa: “My thoughts and prayers are with the entire LaMalfa family during this difficult time. Doug was a true champion of conservative and Western values and a leader as Chairman of the Western Caucus, representing Northern California well. May he rest in peace.”
Cline has served as Virginia’s 6th District representative since 2019 after succeeding Bob Goodlatte and previously held office in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018. Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently residing in Fincastle, Cline holds degrees from Bates College and the University of Richmond.
