U.S. Congressman Ben Cline, who represents Virginia’s 6th district and has served in Congress since 2019, posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing national remembrance, border security concerns, and condolences to a colleague.
On January 19, 2026, Cline reflected on the significance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day by stating, “Today, we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose leadership and sacrifice in the pursuit of justice and equality forever changed our nation. His enduring vision and tireless work continue to leave a lasting impact on America.”
The following day, January 20, 2026, Cline commented on immigration policy under President Joe Biden’s administration. He wrote, “Joe Biden rolled out the red carpet, allowing over 10 million illegal aliens into the country while clearly FAILING to vet them, including ISIS-K terrorists in our backyard.

Later that same day, Cline extended condolences to a fellow member of Congress: “My prayers are with my colleague, @rep_stevewomack, and the entire Womack family during this incredibly difficult time following the passing of his beloved wife, Terri. She was a woman of deep faith, and may she rest in eternal peace.”
Cline succeeded Bob Goodlatte in representing Virginia’s 6th congressional district beginning in 2019. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018. Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently residing in Fincastle at age 51, Cline holds degrees from Bates College (BA) and the University of Richmond (JD).
