Congressman Ben Cline, who represents Virginia’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, has reiterated his support for voter ID laws and fiscal responsibility in a series of recent posts on social media.

On February 2, 2026, Cline wrote, “The American people overwhelmingly support common sense voter ID laws. @RepChipRoy’s SAVE Act will ensure our elections are fair for every American citizen. It’s time for the Senate to pass the SAVE Act!”

The following day, February 3, he added, “.@ScottPresler is spot on — the Senate must pass the SAVE Act. 77M Americans voted for the America First Agenda and to safeguard our fair elections. I’ll keep fighting to ensure American voices are not disenfranchised and that voter ID becomes federal law.”

Later on February 3, Cline addressed national debt concerns: “I refuse to sit back while our country is in over 35T in debt. I have fought for conservative proposals through @RepublicanStudy to balance the budget in Washington. We simply cannot keep spending our way deeper into debt and leaving future generations to face the consequences.”

Ben Cline has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after replacing Bob Goodlatte and previously held office in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018. He was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently resides in Fincastle at age 51. Cline holds a BA from Bates College (1994) and a JD from the University of Richmond (2007).
