Carmelo Pacheco, a former Spotswood High School athlete and now player for the UCF Knights, is set to participate in the NCAA Tournament.
The Knights will open tournament play as the No. 10 seed, matched up against the UCLA Bruins, who hold the No. 7 seed.
The team’s first-round game is scheduled for Friday, March 20, at 4:25 p.m. at Xfinity Mobile Arena.
On Monday, April 27, this former Central Shenandoah area high school star will be competing.
The VMI men’s track and field team posted strong results at the John Weaver Invitational despite rainy conditions on April 25. Several athletes achieved personal bests as they look forward to competing in the Southern Conference Outdoor Championships.
These former Central Shenandoah area high school standouts will be active on Sunday, April 26.
