Congressman Ben Cline, representing Virginia’s 6th district since 2019, has recently shared his views on several key issues via social media. Cline, who succeeded Bob Goodlatte and previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018, addressed concerns regarding foreign influence, tax relief measures, and government spending.

On June 11, 2025, Congressman Cline expressed his apprehension about China’s influence on American energy policy. He stated that “The CCP is using a green energy front group to push their agenda, infiltrate our economy, and undermine American energy security.” He urged for action against this perceived threat by advocating for the reduction of Chinese influence and promoting domestic energy production.

Later that day, he highlighted public support for the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which aims to provide tax relief. According to Cline’s post at 20:30 UTC, there is significant backing from Americans for ending taxes on tips (78% support), halting taxes on overtime work (78% support), and boosting the child tax credit (77% support). He emphasized that “Hardworking families want real tax relief.”

On June 12, 2025, Congressman Cline addressed government spending inefficiencies by referencing a report from @DOGE identifying $9.4 billion in wasteful expenditures. In his statement at 14:09 UTC, he mentioned efforts to codify these cuts into law as a step towards delivering tangible savings for taxpayers.

As an alumnus of Bates College with a BA degree earned in 1994 and holding a JD from the University of Richmond since 2007, Ben Cline continues to reside in Fincastle.
