U.S. Congressman Ben Cline, who represents Virginia’s 6th district, posted a series of messages on his official X account on September 10, 2025, addressing topics ranging from crime and immigration to U.S. business investment trends and an incident at Utah Valley University.

In a post published at 14:02 UTC, Cline commented on the death of Iryna Zarutska, writing: “Iryna Zarutska fled the war in Ukraine to seek safety and opportunity in America. A repeat criminal with 14 prior arrests took her innocent life far too soon. Iryna Zarutska should be with us today.”

Later that day, at 18:20 UTC, Cline addressed U.S.-China economic relations by stating: “Nearly HALF of U.S. businesses have pulled the plug on their planned investments in China. It’s proof that pro-growth, America First policies bring jobs and investment back home. When we put American workers and businesses first, our economy wins.”

At 19:05 UTC, he expressed concern for conservative activist Charlie Kirk and those attending an event at Utah Valley University: “My prayers are with Charlie Kirk, his wife, and family. Please join me in praying for his safety and for all those in attendance at today’s Utah Valley University event.”

Ben Cline has represented Virginia’s 6th congressional district since replacing Bob Goodlatte in 2019. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018. Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently residing in Fincastle, Cline graduated from Bates College with a Bachelor of Arts degree before earning a Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond.
