Congressman Ben Cline, who has represented Virginia’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress since 2019 and previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018, recently shared several updates on legislative actions and personal acknowledgments via social media. Cline, born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently residing in Fincastle, holds a BA from Bates College and a JD from the University of Richmond.
On July 14, 2025, Cline addressed his work as a member of the CJS Appropriations Committee regarding Second Amendment rights. He stated: “As a member of the CJS Appropriations Committee, I’m working to ensure we protect our God-given Second Amendment rights. After years of an administration working to chip away at those freedoms, we’re fighting back—standing strong to uphold the rights guaranteed by our”.
Later that day, on July 14, 2025, Cline commented on recent fiscal measures passed by the House. He wrote: “The House passed it. On June 12th, we approved @POTUS’s $9.4B rescissions package to claw back radical and wasteful spending exposed by @DOGE. Now it’s the Senate’s turn. With a deadline looming, it’s time to codify the cuts and start reining in Washington’s bloated”.
On July 15, 2025, Cline congratulated Todd Gilbert on his new appointment as U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Virginia: “Congratulations to my former colleague and good friend, Todd Gilbert, on being sworn in as U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Virginia. May God continue to bless Todd and his wonderful family as he takes on this new role and continues his service to our Commonwealth.”
