James Madison University’s baseball team defeated George Washington University 12-7 on March 18 at Veterans Memorial Park in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

The win marks the fourth consecutive victory for the Dukes, improving their record to 11-8, while the Revolutionaries fell to 8-11. The game was highlighted by three innings in which James Madison scored three or more runs.

Freshman Cameron Aycock set a personal best with a 3-for-3 performance at the plate, including a triple, two runs scored, and three stolen bases. Junior Ben Barrow also went 3-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored, and four runs batted in (RBI), tying his career high in hits and setting a new career mark for RBI. Senior Brode Susce earned the win after pitching 1.2 innings of relief and recording a strikeout.

The game saw both teams trading leads through the early innings. After George Washington took an early lead in the second inning with three runs, James Madison responded with three of their own. The teams continued to exchange runs until the Dukes pulled ahead in the fourth inning and extended their lead further in the sixth when Barrow hit a bases-clearing triple.

Additional highlights included Kyle Langley driving in three runs to tie his season high and extending his hitting streak to ten games. The Dukes recorded eight two-out RBIs and hit .385 with two outs during the game. They also hit three triples—the most since March 8, 2015.

Looking ahead, James Madison will travel to face No. 16 Coastal Carolina for a weekend series beginning Friday, March 20.
