James Madison University announced on March 26 that its softball game against South Alabama, originally scheduled for Friday, March 27 at 5 p.m., will now begin at 6:30 p.m. The change was made because of a forecast predicting inclement weather in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

The adjustment affects only the Friday matchup, with Saturday and Sunday games set to proceed as planned at Veterans Memorial Park. According to the university’s announcement, Saturday’s game is scheduled for 1 p.m. and Sunday’s for noon.

All three games in the series will be available to stream on ESPN+.

Weather-related schedule changes are common during spring sports seasons as teams aim to ensure player safety and provide optimal playing conditions. James Madison officials said they would continue monitoring forecasts but do not anticipate further adjustments at this time.

Fans planning to attend or watch remotely are encouraged to check official channels for any additional updates.
