James Madison University announced on Mar. 16 that the scheduled non-conference softball game between the JMU Dukes and Virginia, set for Tuesday, March 17, has been canceled because of expected bad weather.

The cancellation affects both teams’ schedules and will not be rescheduled at this time. The decision was made in anticipation of inclement weather conditions that could impact player safety and field conditions.

With this change, the Dukes will now focus on their upcoming Sun Belt Conference series against Coastal Carolina. The three-game series is set to begin on Friday, March 20, with the first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m.

No further information about ticket refunds or additional scheduling changes was provided in the announcement.
