March is Women’s History Month,

March is Women’s History Month, and today is International Women’s Day! March 8th is a day to celebrate the social, cultural, economic, and political achievements of women worldwide. We would be remiss not to use this day to spotlight the inspiring women who work right here at HPD! Did you know that women only make up 13.3% of police officers and only 3% of Chiefs and Sheriffs nationwide? Currently, HPD is comprised of nearly 17% women officers who are pleased to serve the City of Harrisonburg every day!
