Mark Obenshain, a Virginia State Senator, has recently shared several updates and opinions on his social media account.
On August 19, 2025, Obenshain announced an upcoming event: “Mark your calendars for October 14th! It’s time again for Oysters with Obenshain! Invitation coming soon!”
Two days later, on August 20, he commented on his participation in a local fair: “Last fair of the season for me, but it’s a good one — The Page Valley Industrial & Agricultural Fair! I really wanna win the demolition derby car raffle! “
On August 22, Obenshain posted a critical statement regarding political opposition: “This is a part of the liberal coalition that its establishment usually tries to keep hidden. It is ugly, racist, offensive, and real.”
Obenshain has served as a state senator representing Virginia’s 26th district since 2004. His annual “Oysters with Obenshain” event is known among constituents as an opportunity for community engagement and fundraising. The Page Valley Industrial & Agricultural Fair is a longstanding tradition in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley region, featuring agricultural exhibitions and events such as demolition derbies.
