On February 2, 2026, Obenshain encouraged Rockingham County residents to participate in an upcoming public hearing regarding improvements to Route 33. He wrote: “Rockingham Co. residents Come out tomorrow night from 4-6pm to the K’Town Ruritan Club for the VDOT Public Hearing on Rt. 33 Improvements. Can’t make it but want to submit comments email mark@markobenshain.com and we will ensure they get to VDOT.”

On February 3, 2026, Obenshain highlighted a transportation milestone for the region by announcing the return of American/SkyWest Airlines service at Shenandoah Valley Airport.
