County of Rockingham issued the following announcement on March 3

Rockingham County has recently completed the redistricting process that is required every ten years. As a result, changes will occur with several local district boundaries and polling locations. Voters are urged to visit the County website: RockinghamVoters.com to view information pertaining to specific voting precincts and locations. Individuals may also contact the Rockingham County Voter Registrar’s Office, 20 East Gay Street, Harrisonburg, or call 540-564-3055

REDISTRICTING PROPOSAL – PRECINCT CHANGES

February 3, 2022 – Rockingham County Precinct Changes (as approved by the Electoral Board) with Public Hearing by the Board of Supervisors Public Hearing – 7 PM on Wednesday, March 9 Board of Supervisors Room, 20 East Gay Street, Harrisonburg

 105-Lacey Spring – will merge voters who were previously in the 106-Tenth Legion precinct with voters from 105-Lacey Spring. Voting will take place at Lacey Spring Elementary School, 8621 North Valley Pike, Rockingham).

 

106-Lone Pine–created due to merging precincts 107-Plains (COUNTY VOTERS ONLY) and 108-Little North Mountain. Voting will take place at John C. Myers Elementary School – 290 Raider Road, Broadway.

 

405-Ottobine – voters who reside in the Hinton area (Clover Hill Road, West Dry River Road to Slab Road) will be moved into the 205-Silver Lake voting precinct to balance the population due to the 2020 Census and subsequent redistricting process.

 

302-Port Republic – will include voters from previous 306-Cross Keys precinct and Port Republic with voting to occur in the Cross Keys Ruritan Hall or a location to be determined.

 

303-Melrose – voting location pending at the Mount Tabor Family Life Center (Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, 8335 N Valley Pike, Rockingham 22802)

506-Deep Run – new precinct in Election District 5 with voting to occur at South River Elementary School, 2101 Elm Avenue, Grottoes 24441) and includes the area east of Grottoes to the Augusta County line (This area was formerly in District 3. It was moved to District 5 to avoid having a split precinct due to the new House of Delegates lines and to balance the population as a result of the 2020 Census.)

A public hearing by the Rockingham County Board of Supervisors will be held on March 9 at 7 PM in the Board of Supervisors meeting room, 20 East Gay Street, Harrisonburg.
