County of Rockingham issued the following announcement on Jan. 5

The Rockingham County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing at the Rockingham County Administration Center, 20 East Gay Street, Harrisonburg, Virginia, at 6 p.m. on January 12, 2022, to receive comments on the following proposed ordinance amendment:

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VIRGINIA:

Section 7–21.  “Amount of exemption” be and hereby is repealed and re-enacted as follows:

Sec. 7–21.  Amount of exemption.  

Persons qualifying for and claiming exemption shall be relieved of that portion of the real estate tax levied on the qualifying dwelling and land in the amount calculated in accordance with the following schedule:

This ordinance shall take effect January 1, 2022.
