County of Augusta issued the following announcement on Jun. 2.
Election Day is June 8, 2021. All polling locations will open from 6 am to 7 pm.
Elections will be held on June 8, 2021, for both the Democratic and Republican primaries. The Democratic primary will nominate the Democratic party candidates for the Governor of Virginia, Lieutenant Governor of Virginia, and Attorney General of Virginia. The Republican primary will nominate the Republican candidate for the 24th District of the House of Delegates.

Vote Early In-person Now
You can vote in-person at the Government Center in Verona, Mondays through Fridays from 8 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm (closed from 1 pm to 2 pm). You can also vote on two Saturdays, May 29 and June 5, from 9am-5pm. The deadline to vote early in-person is 5 pm on June 5, 2021.
A voter wishing to vote absentee within two weeks of the election should do so in-person at the Voter Registration Office. Voting absentee in person is a "one-stop" process, where you apply for, are issued, and cast your ballot all at the same time.
Vote Early by Mail – Deadline May 28
The deadline to request an absentee ballot to be mailed to you is May 28, 2021. You can apply online for an absentee ballot by mail with a Virginia driver's license.
If you do not have a Virginia driver's license, you may apply using a printed application. Complete the form and mail, drop-off, email or fax it to: Voter Registration Office, 18 Government Center Lane, PO Box 590, Verona, VA 24482, registrar@co.augusta.va.us, 540-245-5037 fax.
Return your ballot: Carefully review the instructions to complete and return your ballot to our local registrar by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, June 8.
- By Mail: If you are returning your ballot by-mail, it must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by your registrar by noon on the third day after the election.
- By Dropbox: You can also drop the ballot off at one of our drop boxes at the Government Center, available now through June 8, and at all the polling locations from 6 am - 7 pm on the day of the election (June 8).
