County of Rockingham issued the following announcement on Nov. 24
The Board Supervisors of Rockingham County gives notice that there is a vacancy on the Planning Commission for Election District 2. The Board intends to appoint a citizen from District 2 to fill an unexpired term on the Planning Commission, with such term to expire August 31, 2024. Following the unexpired term, the District 2 Planning Commissioner will be eligible for reappointment, if the Board of Supervisors so chooses.
The Board of Supervisors invites those interested in being considered for appointment to serve as the District 2 Planning Commissioner to submit their name, contact information, including physical address of their residence, and any information they deem pertinent to the selection process, to Stephen King, County Administrator, by email @ sking@rockinghamcountyva.gov, by phone 540-564-3027, or by mail or delivery at the County Administration Building, 20 East Gay Street, Harrisonburg, Virginia 22802. All submissions must be received by 3:00 p.m. December 10, 2021. To be eligible one must be a qualified voter of Election District 2. If selected, a financial disclosure statement will be required prior to taking office
