Employee: Kent O’Donohue
When citizens see you around town, what are you most likely to be doing? Personally, going to a restaurant or park with my wife and kids. On the job, helping citizens and businesses achieve their goals within the constraints of the code.
Favorite part of your job? Calculations.
Least favorite part of your job? Calculations (when they are not telling me what I want to hear).
Favorite food? Cheese Pizza at Flying Pizza, Italian Sub at Franscesco’s, and #4 at El Charro’s.
Favorite movie? I love them all, except horror.
Favorite website? Slickdeals.net and Brickseek.com.
Favorite sports team? Virginia Tech Hokies.
What do you like to do when you’re not working? Play with my kids.
If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would it be? Italy. Extraordinary architecture, vast outdoor spaces, and awesome food. Not to mention the fascinating history to go along with it.
If you could meet anyone from history, who would it be? Frederick Law Olmsted, the father of American Landscape Architecture and creator of many iconic public spaces such as Central Park.
What is something nobody knows about you? I love history and listening to people’s stories. I have been to twelve different countries and been a part of seven different denominations of Christianity. What I have learned is most people want the same thing, they just approach it from different ways.
If we could attract any business we wanted to Bridgewater, what would it be? Selfishly, an Amazon Distribution Center so I can get drone deliveries. Realistically, a paintball/airsoft course and a brewery (but not both used at the same time). I think there is a young market for them and it would draw JMU students down here for our other businesses.
