Both the Town and County are in the process of updating their respective comprehensive plans. Thank you to those that completed our survey and attended meeting in the past year. We will have another chance for public comment in early 2023 when the final draft is completed.
In the meantime, the County has begun the process of completely re-writing their Comprehensive Plan. Currently, they are in the information-gathering stage and are seeking public input.
There are multiple ways for members of the public to participate. One method is an on-line survey (link below). Paper versions are also available if needed. A second method is to attend public meetings specifically scheduled to hear residents’ priorities and preferences for the County for the coming 20-25 years. Although residents can attend any and all of the public meetings, there is one scheduled at Turner Ashby High School on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. It will begin at 6:00pm and lasts about 2 hours. During these sessions, small discussion groups are formed so that participants have the opportunity to share their thoughts on several topics: (1) community facilities & transportation (2) growth and development (3) local economy and (4) parks & recreation and Natural Resources

This is an excellent way to make sure your interests are represented in the future growth of the County. We hope you will participate.
