Tony Wilt, a Republican member of the Virginia State House representing the 34th district, shared several updates on his official Twitter account in January 2026 regarding legislative activities, economic developments, and public safety concerns.
On January 19, Wilt posted about the opening week of the legislative session: “Check out our week one session update. After being sworn in and completing the procedural steps needed to conduct business, Democrats wasted no time on opening day, rushing through constitutional amendments that will go before voters this year.”
Two days later, on January 21, Wilt highlighted an event at the state capitol involving LEGO Group: “Young or old, everyone loves @LEGO_Group ! It’s LEGO Day at the Capitol – giving legislators and staff a chance to get creative. LEGO is a great partner in the Commonwealth, with a $1B+ manufacturing facility coming to Virginia that will create jobs and grow revenues.” The mention refers to LEGO’s significant investment in Virginia through a new manufacturing facility valued at over $1 billion.
On January 22, Wilt addressed public safety ahead of severe weather conditions expected in Virginia: “After a briefing today, I want to stress this: While a major winter storm will hit the Commonwealth starting Saturday, snow/ice is only part of the concern—expected prolonged bitter cold could be dangerous. Please PREPARE NOW.”
Wilt was elected to represent Virginia’s 34th House district in 2024 after succeeding Kathleen J. Murphy as state representative.
