The VMI men’s track and field team completed the second day of the Virginia Challenge on Apr. 18 with strong performances at Lannigan Field, located at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.

The event brought together athletes from various schools to compete in multiple disciplines. For VMI, junior pole vaulter Cameron Thomas achieved a seventh-place finish by clearing a height of 4.87 meters (15 feet, 11.75 inches), marking the team’s top result for the day.

In addition to Thomas’s performance, Rye Jackson represented VMI in the 400-meter dash and finished in 29th place with a time of 48.95 seconds.

The meet served as an opportunity for Keydets athletes to test their skills against regional competition and prepare for upcoming events.

Looking ahead, the Keydets are scheduled to participate next weekend at the John Weaver Invitational hosted by Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.
