The Northeast Conference recognized three VMI Keydets men’s lacrosse players on Mar. 9 for their performances in a recent 9-8 comeback victory against Monmouth at Drill Field 2.

The conference named freshman defenseman Alex Seaton as Co-Defensive Player of the Week, freshman Ethan Ostrowski as Rookie of the Week, and junior attackman Jack Duncan-Bloom as a Prime Performer. The league made the announcement on Monday.

Seaton was credited with causing five turnovers and collecting six groundballs, contributing to VMI’s defensive efforts that limited Monmouth’s scoring opportunities. Ostrowski scored four goals out of VMI’s nine, took ten shots, picked up one groundball, and caused one turnover during the game. Duncan-Bloom recorded his first hat trick of the season and third of his career, including scoring the decisive goal with just 1:25 left in regulation. He also added an assist for a total of four points and attempted seven shots.

The Keydets’ win marked their third consecutive come-from-behind victory as they prepare to begin Northeast Conference play next weekend against Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York.

Other weekly awards from the conference included Jake Mitchell from Wagner as Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week and Owen Tapper from Robert Morris sharing Co-Defensive Player honors with Seaton. Several other athletes were named Prime Performers alongside Duncan-Bloom, Ostrowski, and Seaton.
