VMI women’s track team completes Virginia Challenge with strong relay finish

The VMI women’s track and field team completed the second day of the Virginia Challenge on Apr. 18 at the University of Virginia’s Lannigan Field in Charlottesville, achieving several notable results.

The event marked an important opportunity for athletes to test their performance against regional competition. The meet included a variety of events, with participants from multiple institutions.

The Keydets’ top result came from the 4×400 relay team, which finished in 14th place overall with a time of 4:03.49. In individual performances, JeNiya White set a personal record by placing 23rd in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.46 seconds. SeMore Green secured a 31st-place finish in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at 25.60 seconds.

Sophomore Naturale Faison also competed in the invitational section of the 200-meter dash and finished in 31st place overall with a time of 24.82 seconds.

Looking ahead, VMI’s women’s track and field team is scheduled to compete next weekend at the John Weaver Invitational hosted by Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.
