Enrollment Analysis: Black students comprised 12.7% of Staunton City Public Schools District's student body in 2023-24 school year

There were 342 Black students enrolled in Staunton City Public Schools District in the 2023-24 school year, 4.5% less than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Data showed that Staunton City Public Schools District welcomed 2,698 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, Black students comprised 12.7% of the student body to be the third most represented ethnicity in the school.

Staunton City Public Schools District roughly covers schools within Staunton City and has a main office in Staunton.

Among the six schools in Staunton City Public Schools District, Staunton High School recorded the highest enrollment of Black students in the 2023-24 school year.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools have an average student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1, slightly better than the national average of 15:1. Minority students, primarily Hispanic and Black, make up 54% of the enrollment, while white students constitute 46%.
