Bath County Education: 509 students were enrolled in 2023-24 school year

There were 509 students enrolled in Bath County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 1% more than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

In terms of gender distribution, the student body in Bath County comprised 50.1% boys, with girls representing the remaining 49.9%.

Data also showed that white students made up 89.6% of the student body, the largest percentage in Bath County schools, followed by Black or African American students with 3.7%, 3.3% Hispanic students and 0.6% Asian students.

Valley Elementary School had the highest enrollment among Bath County's three schools in the 2023-24 school year, welcoming 185 students.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools have an average student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1, slightly better than the national average of 15:1. Minority students, primarily Hispanic and Black, make up 54% of the enrollment, while white students constitute 46%.
