How It Happened
- The Eagles opened up the game with early pressure earning two corner kicks in the opening six minutes of play. On the first attempt Alicia Keo got the first shot of the game off but missed wide. Ashley Sabatino followed her up a few seconds later with a shot of her own that also went wide.
- The Bridgewater pressure did not cease after the opening run. Skyler Daum riffled her first shot of the night in the 11th minute but found the post. In the 1th minute Sabatino fired again but did not get it on target. Hanna Randolph also followed suit in the 14th as her shot was also off target. In the 15th minute Daum got the first shot on goal for BC but the door was shut by Aja Laun for EMU.In total BC had 12 shots in the first half and seven were on goal but none found the back of the net.
- The beginning of the second half was almost the same identical story as Randolph had four shots in the opening 20 minutes. Finally in the 65th minute Keo found the back of the net to break the scoreless tie and give BC a 1-0 lead.
- In the 74th minute Keo almost added her name to the score sheet again as both she and Lyric Birkley got multiple shots off but none found the back of the net keeping it a 1-0 lead.
- BC had one last push around the 80th minute with three corner kicks in a 90 second span. Out of the chances Allison Quick was the only player to get a shot off but the save was made by Laun for EMU.
- Keo tallied a record high seven shots in the win with four of them on goal, also a career high. Randolph added six shots as well.
- Both Carlee Gaboury and Megan Byle saw action for BC but did not have too much to deal with not facing a shot on goal thanks to the Bridgewater defense.
- The shot count heavily favored the Eagles as they led the royals 26-3 overall and did not allow a single shot in the second half.
- Bridgewater also held a 18-1 advantage in corner kicks on the night
- This is the second time this season the Eagles defense has not allowed a shot on net in a game. The first was in a 1-0 win over St. Mary's on Sept. 10.
