Field Hockey Places Four on All-ODAC Lists

The Bridgewater College field hockey program saw four of its student-athletes earn a spot on the 2022 All-ODAC listings, which were released by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

Daphne Daymude and Meredyth Rankin both recorded second team laurels, while Kelli Mullen and Emily Tyler boasted third team accolades.

Daymude, a native of Bealeton, Virginia, led the team with nine goals to go along with two assists and a team-best 20 points. She earned a start in all 16 games for the Eagles and scored four game-winning goals. She posted back-to-back hat tricks in a 3-1 win over Virginia Wesleyan on Oct. 21 and a 4-1 win against Ferrum on Oct. 26. Daymude also registered one defensive save on the year. This is her first postseason honor.

A senior defender, Rankin claims her first all-conference honors after starting in all 16 games. She led the team with four defensive saves and also recorded three goals and one assist. Two of those three goals came against nationally-ranked Shenandoah earlier this season.

Mullen, hailing from Williamsburg, Virginia, started 15 of the 16 games that she appeared in and recorded four defensive saves on the year. A key part of the back line for the Eagles, Mullen earns her first All-ODAC recognition in her senior campaign.

Finishing her second season in the Crimson & Gold, Tyler claims her first league honor with a spot on the third team. Tyler finished the season with four goals, including a pair of scores in a 2-0 shutout win against Randolph-Macon. A native of Leesburg, Virginia, she started all 16 games and finished third on the team with eight points.

The Eagles finished the season with a 6-10 overall record. BC claimed the No. 5 seed in the ODAC Tournament to continue the streak of the team advancing to the postseason tournament in every season it has competed in the ODAC.

Four players on the All-ODAC teams is the most for the Eagles since after the 2019 campaign when they also saw four names on the listings.
