Smeds Competes at National Championship
Emily Smeds competed at the NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championships on Saturday.
The sophomore completed her race with a time of 24:23.5 in below freezing conditions on the campus of Michigan State. Smeds was one of 292 student-athletes competing in the women's 6k race.
Lynchburg was the only school in the ODAC that had their entire team qualify. The Hornets placed 21st as a team. Johns Hopkins picked up their second straight team championship while Kassie Parker from Loras dominated the race leading flag to flag to claim the individual crown.
