Enrollment Analysis: Black students comprised 0.9% of Highland County Public Schools District's student body in 2023-24 school year

There were two Black students enrolled in Highland County Public Schools District in the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Data showed that Highland County Public Schools District welcomed 212 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, Black students comprised 0.9% of the student body to be the second least represented ethnicity in the school.

Highland County Public Schools District roughly covers schools within Highland County and has a main office in Monterey.

Both schools in Highland County Public Schools District enrolled one Black students in 2023-24 school year.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools have an average student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1, slightly better than the national average of 15:1. Minority students, primarily Hispanic and Black, make up 54% of the enrollment, while white students constitute 46%.
