2023-24 School Year Enrollment: 248 9th-grade students welcomed in Rockbridge County schools

There were 248 9th-grade students enrolled in Rockbridge County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 3.1% fewer than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Rockbridge County High School was the only school that welcomed 9th-grade students in the county.

Within Rockbridge County schools, the largest number of students were found in 11th-grade, while 8th-grade had the least students.

Statewide, Rockbridge County ranked 94th in enrollment numbers. It was also ranked 94th the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
