The only school district in Augusta County had rising enrollment in the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

There were 10,144 students in Augusta County Public Schools District, 0.7% more than the year before.

Enrollment in Augusta County bucked the state's trend of decreasing enrollment.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2023-24 school year, 51.3% of them were male, and 48.7% were female.

Data also showed that most of the studets were white, representing 81.7% of Augusta County Public Schools District's total enrollment.

Augusta County Public Schools District has a main office in Verona and is the only school district within Augusta County.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14 in the 2023-24 school year, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools.
